Helmut C. Calabrese


Helmut C. Calabrese, PhD, the Italian-American born in Germany, lived in the village of Bocholt until the age of five.  The Calabrese family immigrated in 1962 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  At the age of ten, Helmut began studying “the black and white ivories” with a private tutor of the piano.  

Helmut passion for music continued to have growth beginning composition studies in the mid-seventies at the Philadelphia Musical Academy with Richard Everill.  Helmut continues his music composition studies at the University of the Arts graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 1980.  

By the end of 1982, Helmut earns a Master of Arts in linguistic studies from West Chester University.  The early eighties finds Helmut relocating to Seaside Heights, NJ and a few years later began PhD studies at New York University graduating in 1996.
